🎯 Goal

Guess the prices of real products to earn points. The player with the most points when the game ends wins!

🚀 Starting a Game

• Open a room link and enter a display name to join. No link yet? Choose Create a room on the welcome screen, then share its invitation link.
• The first player to join a room becomes the Host (marked with a HOST badge). The host's browser drives the game.
• Everyone else lands in the Lobby and waits.
• The host's Start the show button stays disabled until at least 2 players have joined. A room holds a maximum of 12 players.
• Rounds and other game options are not on the join screen. Find them in ⚙️ Settings → Game Settings (see below), and set them before clicking Start Game.

⚙️ Game Settings (Host Only)

Open with the ⚙️ gear icon. These three options are locked to everyone but the host. They also lock for the host once a game is running, so set them from the Lobby before you start:

• Number of Rounds: 1 to 4 bidding rounds (default 3).
• Show Amazon Search Links: Turn the "🔍 Search Amazon" links on or off after each reveal.
• Include Showcase Showdown: On by default. Turn it off to skip the wheel and go straight to the Final Showcase.

🛍️ Bidding Rounds

• Each round, a product is revealed and everyone secretly bids on its price within 30 seconds. If you have not bid when time runs out, the game submits $0 for you.
• Closest bid without going over wins the round: 100 points.
• Bid the exact price to the penny: 250 points.
• If every single player goes over, the lowest over-bid gets a 25-point consolation.
• Tied winning bids each get the full points. Points are never split.

🎡 Showcase Showdown

Happens once, roughly midway through the bidding rounds. The host can turn it off in Settings.

• Players take turns, in join order, spinning a wheel with 20 segments from $0.05 to $1.00 in 5-cent steps. The host's client runs the spin for whoever's turn it is; everyone watches live.
• After your first spin, if you're under $1.00 you choose Spin Again (add a second spin to your total) or Stay (lock it in).
• Go over $1.00 on your total and you bust, earning 0 points for the Showdown.
• Closest to $1.00 without busting wins 150 points; landing exactly on $1.00 wins 300 points. If everyone busts, no one scores.

🏆 Final Showcase

The last event of the game, right after the final bidding round.

• Three products are revealed together as a bundle, without a category hint. Bid on their combined total price within 60 seconds.
• Closest bid without going over wins 500 points.
• Closest without going over and within $250 of the actual total wins 1,000 points instead.
• If everyone goes over, the lowest over-bid gets the usual 25-point consolation.

🎉 Game Over

Final scores are shown with confetti (and a coin shower!) for the winner. The host then picks how to continue:

• New game (reset scores) resets everyone's score to 0 and returns the room to the Lobby with a fresh set of products. The host can click Start Game when ready.
• Continue (keep scores) keeps everyone's current scores and starts one more bidding round, followed by another Final Showcase.

👑 Host Controls

The host crown icon opens a panel with two tabs:

• Players: Remove a player, reinstate someone you removed, approve or deny rejoin requests, and lock the room with a password. Share the password separately from the link. You can set or clear it only while the room is in the Lobby.
• Product Pool: See how many products have been used in this room. Products never repeat. The host can clear the room's used-product list to make everything available again. This can't be undone.

🔌 Disconnects & the Host

• Closing your tab does not remove you. Reopen the same room link to reconnect and keep your score.
• A disconnected player's bid auto-submits as $0 when the timer runs out, so the game never stalls waiting on you.
• If the host goes quiet for about a minute (closed tab, lost connection), another connected player is automatically promoted to host so the game can keep going.

💡 Tips

• Watch what others bid in previous rounds to calibrate your guesses.
• On the wheel, a safe first-spin total means you can Stay and still win. A greedy second spin can bust you.
• On the Final Showcase, landing within $250 doubles your points, so a cautious bid can beat a bold one.
